Lohra Miller to Announce Candidacy for Re-Election | March 5, 2010

West Jordan, UT- March 5, 2010: Republican Lohra Miller will announce her candidacy for a second term as District Attorney for Salt Lake County. Miller was elected Salt Lake County District Attorney in 2006, where she has made a number of successful changes. Miller will be holding a press conference at of the Children’s Justice Center in West Jordan to officially kick off her campaign for re-election on Friday, March 5th at 2:00 p.m.

Lohra Miller looks to continue her service to the community in this position and has made public safety her number one priority. Miller wants to continue improving the criminal justice system to ensure the safety of Salt Lake County for years to come.

During her 2010 re-election campaign Lohra Miller will outline her plans to aggressively prosecute domestic crimes such as spousal, partner, and senior abuse. Miller’s campaign will also focus on making our streets safe from the most serious DUI offenders using alternatives to incarceration and programs proven to reduce recidivism. She will also highlight the importance of working closer with law enforcement and community leaders to make the community safe.

In addition to her current position as District Attorney, Miller is a wife and a mother to 4 children. Lohra Miller is currently President of Utah Statewide Association of Prosecutors, and co-chair of Utah Governor’s Gang Task Force. Miller also serves as Executive Board Member of the Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice, the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee, and board member on several other committees like Utah Clean Energy and the Governor’s Meth Task Force.
